The New Face of Asia Restaurant, Ritz-Carlton Mega Kuningan Jakarta

Hi Eaters.

It's a new fresh look of Asia Restaurant at Ritz-Carlton Mega Kuningan Jakarta. If you've never seen its previous look, well lucky you, just check it out here.
It's always great to come back to a restaurant that has impeccable service and also good food. This is my second time to come to Asia Restaurant and certainly a rapid change had occured. Curious enough? Keep on scrolling!

The new Asia Restaurant looks more spacious. Indeed before they put some food stations in some areas of the restaurant, now the food stations are more concentrated to the sides so it gives more room thus making this venue looked more vast.
I don't quite know if the number of the food stations are also deducted due to this change, but certainly the amount range of food available were still quite plentiful and still had a lot variants to choose from Asian, Western, until Indonesian food too.
The interior had a touch of contemporary eclectic and it made this restaurant looked so elegant yet modern and sophisticated at the same time. There are also seating area with circular sofas for more convenience. There is also live music performances in every Sunday Brunch.
The new open kitchen concept was certainly pleasing to the eyes since you can see the cooks prepare the food. A nice attraction, especially if you love to see how a dish is being handled.

Prices starts from:
* Breakfast – IDR 238K ++/pax
* Lunch – IDR 318K ++/pax
* Dinner (weekdays) – IDR 348K ++/pax
Dinner (weekend) – IDR 428K ++/pax
* Sunday Brunch – IDR 428K ++/pax

I came here for the Sunday Brunch and the place wasn't much packed with guests so it's more convenient for me to take photos.
Now let's take a look on the food I tried during that Sunday Brunch.

First thing I take on a hotel buffet has got to be the seafood or sashimis. Why? Because I consider raw ingredients and seafood should always be number one to taste their optimum freshness. No doubt the freshness from the sashimis and the seafood were on top notch. The choices of sushis were not much but they were also quite tasty indeed.

My second target was the pork station. I was so happy to see they serve pork belly. Yippie!! I absolutely loved that crunchy pork belly skin. That is just to die for! An awesome delight to hear that crackling sound of every pork belly skin as I ate it. The meat was juicy and tasty, but for my personal preference, it's a bit too oily.

The choices of other meat such as the roast beef, the turkey, and the lamb were no disappointment as well. They were cooked beautifully, each appeared as taste bud temptations, and certainly seasoned to perfection.
A must try is the Hainanese rice. It's so rich in flavor, the chicken stock is so dominant thus making the rice so fragrant and delicious. The chicken is so tender and also delicious too! This is definitely a menu you surely don't want to miss out.

The selection of desserts were plentiful, and you can see them first sight as you enter the restaurant due to being place just near the entrance.
A wide selection of cakes, pastries, chocolate, until ice creams are available. It's just heaven if you're a sweet-tooth. They would recommend you to try their Cendol Cake, so if you want to know how a traditional flavor  infused in the cake, definitely you should try the Cendol Cake.

Overall conclusion, it was a pleasant re-visit to the newly-face-lifted Asia Restaurant. All the food were indeed satisfying. This is the kind of thing that would wanna make me have more and more visit to this elegant restaurant.

Keep on chewing!

[HOTEL REVIEW] Restaurants at Resinda Hotel Karawang

Hi Eaters.

Continuing my previous post about Resinda Hotel Karawang, in this post I am going to talk about the hotel's restaurants. Of course in any staycation it won't be complete without having to try the food at the hotel's restaurants. I always think that food is something that completes the whole package. And so for this staycation in particular, I got to try 3 restaurants located at Resinda Hotel Karawang. They are Tenkai Japanese Restaurant, The Oryza Restaurant, and Hai Wang Chinese Delight.

TENKAI JAPANESE RESTAURANT

Tenkai is the first up on this post. It was the first spot I hit upon arriving at Resinda, even before checking in to my room. If you haven't read my experience and review about my room, click here
Me and my friends had lunch at Tenkai, which is a Japanese restaurant that serves sushi rolls, katsu, soba, various poultries, desserts, and ice cream too.

I must say that the way this restaurant was decorated surely brought that Japanese ambiance to live. The usage of wood for the restaurant's theme was certainly spot on, making Tenkai not only beautiful but also comfortable.
We got the chance to try Tenkai's dining promo, called the Sushi Mayhem, which is only held every Saturday at 11.30-14.00 for only IDR 150K ++/pax. In this package I can enjoy an-all-you-can-eat sushi from the live sushi bar, fresh salads, hot dishes, desserts and ice creams, also a free flow of Japanese green tea or mineral water.

I liked the sushis since it is freshly made upon order, the spicy salmon was certainly delicious for my palate. The dessert, in which that day they served pudding, was super yummy. I think I maybe eat like 3 of them, LOL. The ice cream was also nice, especially the Kopyor flavor. I did hope they served matcha or ogura, in which they didn't that day. The flavors of the ice cream vary day through day. Overall, it's pretty good and I think it's worth the price tag for an all you can eat buffet.

THE ORYZA RESTAURANT

I had the chance to have dinner and breakfast at The Oryza Restaurant. This restaurant had an outdoor dining area, that also acted as a smoking area, just at the pool side.

Mostly served dishes that night were Indonesian soul food, the kind of food that always got me rejoiced. Some signature dishes were so memorable, such as the Gado-gado Tempura, Tahu Telor, Ayam Garang Asem, and certainly the super tasty Pindang Ayam Soup. My tastebuds were surely pampered as these Indonesian delicacies brought a lot of sophistication, in a good way, for my palate.

Desserts were much joy since there is a station right near the restaurant's entrance that offered quite a lot of selection of ice cream flavors. My choice that night was the pistachio and coffee break, which successfully ended my dinner time so sweetly.

Breakfast time at The Oryza was not a disappointment. Vast selection of dishes and beverages arraying from Indonesian, Western, and even Japanese breakfast were available. Guests can enjoy breakfast indoor or outdoor whichever their preference. Me and my friends chose to enjoy ourselves indoor, having our breakfast in the comfy sofas provided.

HAI WANG CHINESE DELIGHT

Having a heavy heart to must leave this lovely hotel and back to the hectic capital, I found solace and consolation at Hai Wang Chinese Delight. It's really nice that Resinda is quite diverse in providing dining selections recognizable for the Indonesian's palate.
Chinese dimsums certainly have had its own place for the locals though it's never easy to find a place that could serve good dimsums. But nevertheless, don't need to worry since Hai Wang certainly is no disappointment either.

The restaurant was certainly beautiful. Showcasing mostly wooden color, red, and black for the interior, it gives a classical yet with a slight modern touch to the ambiance with displaying a lot of Chinese ornaments such as lanterns.

The food selections were quite many, not only dimsums can be enjoyed, but also hot dishes like vegetables, meat, noodles, and desserts. For the dimsum, there is a choice of steam dimsums and fried dimsums; savory or sweet. For this all-you-can-eat dimsum buffet, it is charged IDR 135K nett/pax, but remember it is only valid on Sunday from 10.00-14.00. So so affordable, right? Other dishes that are not included in the buffet are the ala carte Roasted Duck ,Pork Belly, and Suckling Pig, which you must pay extra to enjoy.

Overall, the dimsums I tried brought nothing else besides satisfactory. My favorites were the Chicken Feet, Lo Mai Gai, Siew Mai, and mostly all the fried dimsums. Literally, it sums up that the dimsums were made to a perfection level to pamper my taste buds. The ala carte menus: Pork Belly, Roasted Duck, and the Suckling Pig were DA BOMB! Dangerously delicious. I feel an addiction is coming up if I keep on eating those deadly trio.

And in a nutshell, and to round up and finalize my complete review about Resinda, starting from my review about the hotel in general, about the room I stayed in, and this post about the hotel's restaurant... well, I can only say that I am amazed by the complete package the hotel has given me to make my weekend so memorable. Again and again, this is one place I will surely recommend for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the capital. Great place, great service, great facility, great room, and superb food, what a deadly combo not to be missed. Thanks again Resinda Hotel Karawang for the wonderful staycation. I wish you all the best.

Keep on chewing!
