Publik Markette New Ala Carte Menus

Hi Eaters.

Back again in my most favorite Ismaya's restaurants, Publik Markette.
Why did I say it's my most favorite? Well, besides of its unique food gallery concept, also the food never fails to impress me (so far). So it is guaranteed that if anytime should there be another invitation from this restaurant, it will be on top of my to-do-list.

I'm not gonna share any interior photos of this restaurant anymore since I have done it before on my previous review. So if you haven't read that one, you can click here. And also the interior hasn't changed since my first visit. But the great thing is the food keeps evolving.
So most of you who have tried Publik Markette might be dazzled at your first time entering the premises to see those scrumptious dishes in the food gallery. A lot of you might just go straight and ordered them as you walk by the food gallery. But did you know that Publik Markette also serves awesome ala carte menus?
I'm gonna share the ala carte menus I tried on my invitation. I do have to warn you that drooling can happen as you start scrolling below. So, you have been warned. Scroll at your own risk. LOL.

Bacon Cheddar Fries

French fries drenched with cheddar sauce and topped with chopped beef bacon. Simple as that, yet OMG so delicious. The sauce is really good! And luckily the fries were crispy enough so it's still so crunchy even though it was soaked with that abundant cheddar sauce. And I also liked the fact that the fries were seasoned too.

Quattro Formaggi Pizza

Always love this kind of pizza. Thin crusted with not so may toppings on it. You might ask why not choose a pizza with abundant toppings? But for me, I like to eat my pizza with ease, and not getting too full in just a couple of slices because of the overwhelming toppings.
This one is really good too. Even though it uses 4 kinds of cheeses but since it's thin crusted so I wasn't overflowed. 1 slice is good for me, 2 slices are even better, more slices..heaven!

Homemade Pasta Beef Ragout

Homemade pasta with beef ragout (stew) toppings. Even though it uses beef ragout, but the serving was kinda dry. The tomato base was good, and the abundant beef ragout toppings were excellent. Add some grated parmesan to elevate the flavors!

Char Grilled Bone In Pork Chop

Grilled pork chop served with baby potatoes, baby tomatoes, and rocket leaves. It's visually so appetizing. Like a kid, I was overjoyed seeing such a big slice of pork chop on the table.
It tasted really good. The pork was juicy, moist and tasty at the same time. Everything on the plate was just spot on.

Super Lord of The Bacon Burger

This dish highlighted my visit. I mean, as I am writing this blog down, or even as I was editing the photo, I was drooling over and over again.
A big portion of burger with beef patty, sunny side up egg, bacon, cheddar sauce, tomato, lettuce, onions and more bacon, served with crispy potato chips!! OMG, forget about cholesterol when you see this one. This is what I call a monster burger. It tasted so good I could die..

Salted Egg Yolk Pork Belly

I love salted egg soooo much. Really happy this also came to the table. I didn't hope much when I know that my table won't be getting this menu since it was on another set menu (each table gets a specific set menu) but luckily I was allowed to have a taste of this BOMB dish.
Rice topped with poached egg along with fried pork belly drenched in salted egg sauce and served with pork crackers. OMG the salted egg sauce is so GOOD! Excuse me but I have to use capital letters for that. I think everything in the plate complemented each others perfectly.

Nasi Campur Bali

As I am planning my holiday to Bali in the next few weeks it so nice to have a taste of the Balinese cuisine in advance. This one is also good. The satay, in particular, is awesome! Do watch out for the spicy sambal matah.

Jimbaran Tiger Prawns

Basically it's the same as Nasi Campur Bali. You just take out the chicken, the satay, and the crackers then replace them with 3 big grilled tiger prawns. Boom!
Tastewise, it's also good. The tiger prawns were grilled and seasoned beautifully. I mean, the colors and the taste were so inviting. I wish they put more of those prawns on the plate.

Crispy Salmon Skin

Save the best for last, a proverb says. Couldn't agree more to that. As it was the last to be served that day, but it also acted as a sweet (or may I say savory?) ending.
A big slice of salmon with its oh so heavenly crispy skin, served with baby potatos, baby tomatoes, garlic, and rocket leaves.
This sucker is the drooling factor of the day. Its juicy meat, well seasoned, and that awesome crispy salmon skin. Hands down, so good! I just want more!

So that's all the ala carte menus I've tried that day. Of course there are some other menus that skipped my palate, such as the Breaded Chicken Fries and the Tokyo Aglio Olio,
But let me assure you that if the menus I've tried above was outstanding, I most definitely think the ones I missed surely must went the same direction.
Again and again, Publik Markette, you didn't fail to impress me. I hope there will be more astonishing dishes in the future to come.

Can't wait!

Keep on chewing!

Jazzy Dee

[REOPENING] The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Plaza Indonesia

Hi Eaters.

It was a packed-up, full-scheduled Saturday for me since most of the food tasting invitations which were supposed to be held the previous Saturday had to be postponed to the next week due to the demo rally. I had to list amongst the invitations, which one goes after which one. Yes, this kind of situation feels rather difficult sometimes because I know there are quite a number of places I certainly don't wanna miss to visit, such as this one: The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Plaza Indonesia.

If you had never know any information about The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, well, here's a short brief about it.

"The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (sometimes shortened to simply "Coffee Bean" or "The Coffee Bean") is an American coffee chain by Herbert Hyman in September 1963, as a coffee service for offices. It is owned and operated by International Coffee & Tea, LLC, which has its corporate headquarters in Los Angeles, California. As of August 2015, the chain has over 1000 self-owned and franchised stores in the United States and 24 other countries.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Indonesia was established in 2001 and was managed by PT. TRANS COFFEE which is a subsidiary of Transcorp since 2006. Transcorp is an Indonesian corporation which has large numbers of successful businesses in media, entertainment, fashion, retail as well as Food & Beverage while under the leadership of Chairul Tandjung. One of PT. TRANS Coffee’s core objectives is to be a leader in Indonesia’s Food & Beverage industry.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is introducing a new concept to our stores, which will allow customers to enjoy high quality coffee & tea drinks more comfortably. The first store which adopts the new concept can be found at Central Park Mall, West Jakarta on December 21st, 2011. Lotte Mall Bintaro soon followed at December 22nd, 2011 as well as Ciputra World, Surabaya at December 23rd, 2011. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf currently has 108 stores all over Indonesia."

I visited their new reopened outlet at Plaza Indonesia. If you have ever visited this outlet before then you'll notice that this outlet has moved from its previous place just not far away across. It's better, I think, since now the new reopened outlet has an outdoor area so it can cater better for customers who smoke cigarettes.
The interior still as many other Coffee Bean outlets, offers a vibrant and youthful ambience. Though the place couldn't accomodate too many customers but yet I still think it's quite comfortable.

Besides taking a look of their fresh new outlet, I also had the chance to try some of the food. As you know, I am a die hard coffeeholic. And I certainly loved visiting coffee shops. Yet that day I didn't try any coffee (sigh..) but nevertheless there are some food I think were worthy to try.

Cakalang Roll - IDR 49K

This first one is the Cakalang (skipjack tuna) Roll. In Indonesia, this kind of fish is known to be cooked spicy. So hearing the menu's name: Cakalang, my hopes were expecting it to be quite spicy. But yet, the spiciness was fine. You shouldn't worry it'll burn your tongue out. The taste was on spot for me, and the puff pastry was also my cup of tea. But IMHO the price tag is a little too high.

Chicago Cheesecake - IDR 40K

This one is DA BOMB! Sooo good! Well, maybe I just said it out loud cause I'm a big fan od cheesecake compared to any other. But, to be honest, hands down, this is so soo good!
The cake is creamy, moist, and the cheese is soooo delicious!!
40K is so so so sooo worth it for this baby!

Teriyaki Tori Burger - IDR 65K

Burger with deep-fried chicken breast drenched in teriyaki sauce filling. This one tasted quite good. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and I must say the sauce is quite nice. But still, with a tag of 65K I was expecting more on the plate. Maybe some salad or french fries to accompany the burger. The Lays potato chips were okay (I mean, who wouldn't say no to Lays?) but to fit the tag I do consider (and recommend) more condiments.

Green Tea Cappuccino - IDR 35K

Green tea lately has become a booming trend (again) and I think most people do love green tea in their respective ways. I, myself, like green tea as it should have been. A bit bitter as it is, the better it gets. This one, actually, was a little too sweet for me. It's not my cup of tea. And frankly I always loved my cappuccino not to be sweet. So maybe this is more perfectly to be called frappuccino? Well, you decide yourself.

Deciding one's taste is never easy since food must accomodate many palates. But sincerely I think that food must stick to its origin.
In a nutshell, I do still consider The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf as one of the spot to leisure and have a cup of coffee or tea. That cheesecake would be my ultimate prey if I should visit this place again.

Keep on chewing!

French Food Festival : Collage at Pullman Jakarta Central Park Hotel

Hi Eaters.

Last Sunday I was invited to Collage, the all-day dining restaurant located at Pullman Jakarta Central Park Hotel.
As two days before a terrible riot had happened, I wasn't so sure of the capitol's state of security so I was thinking of postponing this visit.
But nevertheless, yet still I came to this Instagramable place.

The sight of a big replica of the Eiffel tower greeted me as I was about to enter the premises. It appears that during this month, Collage is having a French Food Festival, serving some line of dishes originating from France, along with its other line of dishes from India, Indonesia, Chinese, Japanese, and many more.
You can easily spot and recognize which food came from which country since they put country flags in cards at the buffet to explain the origin of the dishes.

Walking through the restaurant is like walking in an art gallery. Notice that big red shoe in one of my pics? It's art. The concept of this restaurant, and the hotel thoroughly is so catchy. Raw industrial theme with a touch of pop art. As I have said earlier, this hotel is entirely Instagramable. Starting from the unfinish polished wall, art crafts placed among the restaurant and hotel vicinity and the paintings.
Local artist can display their masterpiece here too for a periodic amount of time. So it's best to know that the arts displayed could change and refresh the look of the interior.

Pullman Jakarta Central Park will take diners to a glimpse of Parisian experience through a French Food Festival from 1 – 30 November 2016, and continue with a dazzling Thanksgiving dinner buffet on 24 November 2016 and brunch buffet on 26 – 27 November.

Using only the freshest product supplies, our team of amatory chefs has prepared magnificent French dishes in buffet style, among others: Terrine De Poulet, Soupe à l'oignon (French Onion Soup), Ratatouille, and Confit de Canard, which can be found in exclusive sections in the restaurant. What could be more perfect than a fanciful French dessert before leaving? Have yourself the best of French classic dessert as you wish; Macaron, Crepe Suzette, Crème Brulee, Eclair, Tarte Tatin and many more.

At the end of the month, a tantalizing Thanksgiving Day dinner buffet on Thursday, 24 November 2016 will impress you and your family as stunning selections of gourmet roasts including the appetizing Roasted Turkey. While on the weekend, we extend the Thanksgiving celebrations to Weekend Brunch on 26 – 27 November 2016 where kids can also enjoy fun activities.

French Food Festival and Thanksgiving Day Celebrations in buffet presentations are available from 1 – 30 November 2016 and priced from IDR 298,000 ++ / person including mineral water.

For Collage’s bank partners card holders, diners can enjoy 20% off on weekday (Monday to Friday) and 50% off on weekend (Weekend Brunch every Saturday and Sunday and weekend dinner on Friday to Sunday).

Comfortably hosts up to 200 guests, Collage All Day Dining mainly serves buffet of International Cuisines with live cooking and open kitchen concepts. The various permanent food counters of multicultural dishes (Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, and Western cuisines) are strengthened by the presence of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef from Indonesia, the resident Indian Chef and the amatory Team of Pastry Chef.

Collage All Day Dining is the recently awarded as The Second Runner Up ‘Best International Restaurant’ through voting by the foodies from NOW! Jakarta is looking forward to welcoming guests to savor German Food Festival.

I've also had the chance to try the French food. Well, the occasion was French Food Festival, so why not savor the moment and try the special food of the month. So I began searching for the cards with the French flag inside it. Here's what I tried:

Haricort Vert Sautesa L'ail et Tomate Cerise

Sauted string beans with garlic and cherry tomatoes. This one is pretty simple, just string beans sauted with garlic to give it some flavor and then dressed up with cherry tomatoes. Do take in my mind that the onions were my added ingredients just to boost up this dish' presentation. This dish was pretty good. If you like something light in flavors, well this veggie dish might suit you well. It's not too garlicky too for my tastebuds.

Poulet a L'estragon & Pommes Parmentieres

Roasted chicken with tarragon, I combined them with another dish, roasted potato, nutmeg and onions. I think this one is delicious. The chicken was nice and juicy. Overall I also loved the seasoning. As for the potatoes, it was okay. Delicious, but not that wow though.

Boeuf Miroton

Beef stewed. I actually loved the seasoning for the stew. The soup was pretty good, sweet and savory. But I think the beef was not as juicy and chewy as I expected. A bit hard to bite though. If only it was more tender, it would be great.

Soupe de Champignons Sauvages

Wild mushroom soup. I always crave for this kind of soup compare to any other. I think basically I like a thick-textured soup and the flavor of mushroom goes way better in a soup for my tastebuds. This one fits right in and I really liked it. The flavor of the mushrooms was pretty thick and strong.

My overall comment for the French food was pretty good, despite of some minor glitches which I think could be fix in the future. Yet again, it's not always easy to maintain consistency in a buffet.

I also had the chance to try some of the other food, like sushi, sashimi, rib eye steak, the roasted chicken, and dimsum. I must say that I am quite impressed with the quality of the food, and also the taste. Their dimsums were so good. The black buns are to die for. So delicious!
One thing I sincerely think the restaurant should pay attention for is the number of the cook that attend every food station. As I was going to ask for a plate of sashimis, I had to wait while the cook prepared a plate of gado-gado. Being only alone in a food station that caters a range of food, I think it's hard for him to single-handedly accomodate every customers.

The dessert station is a jolly, with a vast range of cakes, yoghurts, pastry, and even ice creams. Nearby is also a station that provides Indonesian traditional sweet snacks to be enjoyed.

And for this month, Collage is having some special mocktails such as the Virgin Mary (red) and the Virgin Colada (yellow).
The Virgin Colada is refreshing with a hint of pineapple taste that reminds you of a summer breeze, while the Virgin Mary is made of tabasco. So be careful, it tasted pretty spicy. But if you like a unique mocktail, this could be your choice (at your own risk)

Overall conclusion, I really enjoyed my brunch. It was a packed day as the restaurant was pretty full with customers but the food stations were always refilled. I love the impeccable service and the whole interior design of the restaurant. Certainly one of the best youthful, catchy with an energetic vibe that will make you feel comfortable for hours tasting good food.
Can't wait to be back again!

Keep on chewing!
